The founders have always set out to make the ultimate luxury shoes - seamlessly combining both incredible comfort & luxury styling. Their designs detailed chic, elegant, timeless shoes that needed to be made using the highest quality materials, the best manufacturing processes and with the highest sustainable ratings.
For the first 5 years, SM shoes were beautifully handcrafted in Colombia. However, with limitations around material technology, sustainable initiatives and cutting-edge manufacturing processes, the difficult but exciting transition of moving production to a new country began.

Located in the world-renowned footwear-making district of Felgueiras, our manufacturers have decades of experience producing the highest standard of footwear.

Family and community are the foundation of our ethos with the founders being cousins. Our Portuguese manufacturer was founded by António Manuel Morais Melo Da Cunha, is now led by his children, Joana, Vitor and Maria Amélia.
